Hi, the letter V is very controversial in the younger futhark.
There is concrete evidence, such as the Vallsjö runestone in Sweden that the letter v/u is associated with the rune ᚢ. But it is very difficult to give the same correct interpretation for all occasions.
Example of the Vallsjö runestone:
: .ᚢᚽᛋᛏᛁ: ᛅᚢᚴ: ᛁᚢᛅᚱ: ᛅᚢᚴ ……. etc…(go and see the photos of the stone)
Original Rune TEXT
÷ uesti: auk: iuar: auk: s (u) [lfa:] (b) ruþr: þriʀ: karþu: bru: þasi: (a) uk: satu: stein: þana: eftiʀ: þialfa: faþur: [sin]
Old Norse
Véseti ok Ívarr ok Sylfa, brœðr þrír, gerðu brú þessa ok settu stein þenna eptir Þjalfa, fǫður sinn.
Eng
Véseti and Ívar and Sylfa, the three brothers made this bridge and placed this stone in memory of Þjalfi (Thjalfi), their father.

Is that possible that four single runes ciuld actually mean that? I used an online runes translator and it came out saying it simply meant Loki.

Eric,
Hello, My brother. I was going to ask the exact same question. Did you ever get a response on how to translate berserker into runes?

Many great people had two or three runes combined into a family symbol. If you cant find one single rune that fits that person maybe use two or three and combine them. The best known example for this would be the bluetooth symbol as a inspiration.

You should look up Medieval Runes, which come to be a few centuries after the younger futhark but are perhaps a bit closer to the Icelandic spelling you’re going for. There are also more symbols to represent letters so that’s also a good thing if you wish to avoid ambiguity

English: one’s back is vulnerable unless one has a brother
Old Norse in Icelandic Orthography: Ber er hver á bakinu nema sér bróður eigi.”

Is this the correct runic?

Do you recommend any ? And if you could list what the translation meaning is for the recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. I haven’t had any luck in my searches .

I was wondering if you would help me with the translation for Berserker into Long Branch Runinic? I am a Marine Combat Veteran that has been through two tours in Iraq and more than my share of crap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I am Norwegian descent…and I am also a veteran. It’s a veteran sayin, “ ‘til Valhalla”.

Much appreciated.
